Centennial Trailhead
Mount Hayes can be accessed from this trailhead via the Centennial Trail, brings you up along the Appalachian Trail/Mahoosuc Trail (say "hello!" to the thru-hikers!), and is considered a challenging 6.6 mile out-and-back. Mt. Hayes is the westernmost peak in the Mahoosuc Range, and from the summit you're rewarded with a birds-eye view of Gorham, Androscoggin River, the northern sections of the Presidential Range, and the Carter Range as well. Be aware that this trail is well travelled in peak hiking season, so alternate parking or approaches should be considered. Please hike with kindness, and leashed dogs are welcome.
