Glen Boulder Trail

Description

Glen Boulder sits precariously on the edge of the mountainside and can be seen from far below on Route 16. It’s debated whether this enormous boulder is a glacial erratic (i.e a giant rock carried to its resting place by glaciers), but it’s dramatic perch and beautiful views make it worth the short yet challenging hike. This area is a very popular, highly used destination, so please hike with kindness. Leashed dogs are welcome.

This trail is mostly used during the spring, summer, and fall seasons.

The Glen Boulder Trail is often used as a route to Mt. Isolation, which is on the New Hampshire 4,000 Footers list. This complete 12.1 mile out and back trail is challenging but rewarding. Visit All Trails for more information.
