Mascot Pond Hike

Description

Mascot Pond is located in the Leadmine State Forest, on the north side of the Androscoggin River. It sits at the base of the historic Mascot Mine (1800s). The mine area is permanently closed and is now home to many of New Hampshires endangered species of bats.

This hike is approximately 3 miles round trip, most of which is on a wide dirt trail / access road. Park at the Trestle Bridge Mahoosuc / Appalachian Trailhead (420 Main St.). Cross the bridge and follow signs for the Mahoosuc Trail. The trail forks ~1.2 miles in with a short spur (.2 miles) to arrive at Mascot Pond.
