
Mount Jefferson (via Caps Ridge Trail)
Mount Jefferson is part of the Presidential Range, which comprises of thirteen mountains, nine of whom are above four thousand feet. As the name suggests, many of these mountains were named after former US presidents. The remaining mountains hold names of other colonial figures from US history. The views from these mountains are some of the most iconic in NH, and on a clear day, hikers can see across to six states, and even the Atlantic Ocean. There are a number of trails to choose from to ascend Mt. Jefferson including Caps Ridge and Castle Trail, or part of a loop with Mounts Madison and Adams.
