Mount Monroe via Amoonusuc Ravine Trail
Description
Check out this 5.8-mile out-and-back trail to summit Mount Monroe, a 4,372-foot peak in the Presidential Range of New Hampshire. A challenging hike that begins with a scenic stroll through the forest, followed by steeper climbs and rock scrambles. The trail offers breathtaking views of Mount Washington and the Southern Presidential peaks.
Along the way, enjoy the serene Gem Pool waterfall, a perfect spot for a break. Once above treeline, the trail becomes steeper, and you’ll encounter dramatic vistas of the White Mountains. After summiting Monroe, you can extend your hike to Mount Washington via the Crawford Path.
This hike is known for its rugged beauty and is a must-do for experienced hikers looking for a challenge. The trail is best accessed from April to November.
