This trail is great for those hoping to hike to the summit of Mount Washington but do not want to start from the base. The trail is accessed from part way up the Mount Washington Auto Road. Please note that the trailhead is accessed seasonally when the road is snow-free and open, and there is a fee charged to drive up the auto road. Hikers should be prepared for extreme weather (yes, it can snow in the summer!), as this hike is almost entirely in the alpine environment above treeline, and the Mount Washington area is notorious for having some of the most dangerous weather in the world.
